Miss Cactus & The Desert are an indie band from Boston lead by Alondra Cactus.
From what I understand they have kind of a reggae/dub vibe and I have to be honest, that's not the kind of music I'm accustomed to hearing from that particular part of the country.
In my inbox is their latest single called "Dating School" and I'm pretty excited to check it out.
Watch the video, form your own thoughts and then see if they align with mine directly after that. It's a fun game.

This definitely has a cool island vibe to it. It's catchy and has pop-appeal while still remaining unique and indie-sounding. I think Alondra has a cool voice that fits this dub-tinged tune like a glove. The verses are strong and the chorus is infectious. This single makes me want to go back in time to see what else I missed from them. That's always a good sign.
Regardless of what kind of music you're into, I imagine "Dating School" is going to give you a smile. It's catchy, cute, and in my opinion, a can't-miss no matter your musical palate. I highly recommend checking this one out.
